PEG Collection
PEG는 Rock Scissors Paper(RSP)의 런칭 컬렉션을 위해 제작된 모듈형 선반 시스템이다.
브랜드의 슬로건 ‘Uniqueness beyond Typology’에 따라, 익숙한 구조에서 벗어나 독자적 인상을 가지는 제품을 목표로 하였다.
초기 아이디어는 얇고 선형적인 구조에서 출발하였으며, 선반이 기능을 수행하는 동시에 면적감으로 인해 공간의 밀도를 증가시킨다는 점에 착안해 시각적 여백을 확보하는 방향으로 전개되었다.
이 과정에서 소재에 대한 탐구가 병행되었고, 휨 강도가 높은 고밀도 HPL(자작나무 기반)이 선택되었다.
이는 기술적 안정성과 함께 시각적 정제감을 제공한다.
구조는 CNC 가공된 알루미늄 부품을 중심으로 구성되며, 사용자가 임의로 조립할 수 있도록 설계되었다.
플랫팩 구조로 운송과 설치에 용이성을 더한다.
PEG는 주거와 상업 공간 모두에서 공간적 밀도를 완화하고, 조형적 가벼움을 전달하는 시스템 가구로 제안된다.
PEG is a modular shelving system developed for the launch collection of Rock Scissors Paper (RSP).
Informed by the brand’s slogan, “Uniqueness beyond Typology,” the project sought to produce a product that departs from conventional forms and conveys a distinct presence.
The initial concept was based on a thin, linear shelf structure. During development, the design team identified that shelving—while inherently functional—can visually densify a space due to its planar qualities. This insight led to an exploration of ways to introduce spatial lightness and visual breathing room.
Material studies focused on high-pressure laminate (HPL) with a birch core, chosen for its low deflection rate and ability to balance technical performance with refined visual clarity.
The structural frame is composed of CNC-machined aluminium parts, allowing for user-configurable assembly. Its flat-pack format enables ease of transport and installation.
PEG is proposed as a system furniture solution that alleviates spatial density and introduces visual lightness across both residential and commercial environments.
